Hello Duckies,
I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile and I think it’s finally time to start getting more Community Involvement via opportunities to participate in different Departments in DuckyWood.
The first Departments to be introduced: Duckworks, PekinTimes, Ducktivities, Duckies Resources & Lot Owners Association.
DuckWorks:
I’ve been wanting to do this for awhile and I think it’s finally time to start getting more Community Involvement via opportunities to participate in different Departments in DuckyWood.
The first Departments to be introduced: Duckworks, PekinTimes, Ducktivities, Duckies Resources & Lot Owners Association.
DuckWorks:
- These are the worker ducks of our DuckyWood Community who have a passion for planning, beautification and building.
- They'll help improve and build our Government Buildings and Public Areas.
- Decorate the Government Streets and Public Areas for Campaigns, Holidays and Seasons.
- This team would be builders who have a passion for building exteriors, interiors and landscaping.
PekinTimes:
- Pekins are social ducks who help spread the news to the DuckyWood Community.
- They’ll keep us informed on everything happening around DuckyWood.
- Tasks would be to write news article to include interviewing new Ducklings, interviewing current Duckies and publishing information about when lots updated their houses and could interview the owners to see why and what inspired them.
- Possibilities are endless, could event host comps through the articles submissions.
- Graphic Arts Duckies would also be cool and maybe part of this team.
Ducktivities:
- Our Ducktivities help promote DuckyWood by increasing our outreach and Tourism.
- They’ll plan and host Activities and events to engage our current Duckies.
- Activities and Events including but not limited to live events, auto games and street festivals.
- The goal for this group is to plan monthly campaigns with themes and a few activities for our Duckies and Visitors to participate in.
- It is not our goal to have constant hourly events though an occasional game night would be okay.
Duckies Resources (DR):
- Help bring in new members known as “Ducklings” to Duckywood Community
- Help Ducklings through the process of joining the DW Community.
- Providing guidance and assist Ducklings in picking their potential lots.
- Promoting and helping all Duckies interested in joining DW+
- Notifying Duckies that their DW+ has expired.
- These members take surveys of Duckies to see how the Community Spirit is currently at and sees how we can improve.
- Advocates for Duckies if there is an issue, tries to resolve them and if needed escalates to the Town Council.
Lot Owners Association:
- The LOA help develop and propose Community Codes Requirements to be approved by Town Council.
- They also routinely review, enforce and report the current status of DuckyWood’s lots and streets of our Residential Estates and Business Districts.
- These Duckies are strict rule followers and have a passion for making sure we are consistent across all of DuckyWood.
Remember that we are still wanting to keep DuckyWood, the fun and enjoyable Community that we all have loved dearly. These are volunteer roles that allow members to help DW run smoothly, improve and hopefully grow.
Please contact Zarek if you are interested in being in one or more these Departments. I'll be looking first for those that are interested in being the Head of each Department. I'll then work with them and let them know who is interested in working in their Department.
Also, the names of these departments are not set in stone yet… so any feedback or ideas would be welcomed too. Have an idea for another Department? Let me know!
